On October 31st Diriyah Company held an exclusive evening event with Mohamed Saad, President of DevCo, Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, and distinguished guests, to celebrate the unveiling of Amansamar.
The gathering in Diriyah showcased the vision behind this landmark development – a luxury hotel and branded residences collection designed to represent Saudi hospitality and architectural excellence.
The project, located in Wadi Safar and designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, is positioned to become one of the region’s most prestigious hospitality and residential developments
Amansamar Hotel & Branded Residences
Amansamar is an ultra-luxury resort and residential development featuring an 80-key Aman hotel and branded residences, marking Aman’s first property in Saudi Arabia. The resort is located in Wadi Safar, close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif on the outskirts of Riyadh near Diriyah.
The name “Amansamar” combines “Aman” (meaning peace in Sanskrit) with “samar” (the Arabic tradition of storytelling at dusk). The acacia tree, a symbol of resilience and tranquility, serves as a design motif throughout the property.
The project is designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, featuring Aman’s signature minimalist design with panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape while incorporating elements of traditional Najdi design.
The 80-suite hotel will feature expansive amenities including an Aman Spa featuring a hammam and banya, a racquet club, dining venues, swimming pools and access to the exclusive global Aman Club.
The residences include ultra-luxury five to six-bedroom villas and private estates set on plots starting from 9,000 square meters. Each ultra luxury home for sale is positioned along cliffs and desert terrain to maximize natural light and panoramic views.
Residents will have access to the Greg Norman-designed championship golf course, Royal Diriyah Equestrian and Polo Club, invitation to join the global Aman Club with locations in Tokyo, New York, Bangkok, Miami Beach, and Beverly Hills, and full access to hotel amenities including spa, dining, and recreational facilities.
Wadi Safar
Wadi Safar will feature a collection of luxury hotels including WELL, Montage, Aman, Oberoi, and Six Senses, alongside branded residences from FAENA, The Chedi, Aman, Oberoi and high-end leisure facilities.
The broader Diriyah development is expected to contribute approximately $18.6 billion (SAR 70 billion) directly to the Kingdom’s GDP, create nearly 180,000 jobs, and accommodate an estimated 100,000 residents. Diriyah will include modern office space, museums, a university, the Royal Diriyah Opera House, the Diriyah Arena, and approximately 40 world-class resorts and hotels.
Aman Group
Amansamar joins a growing collection of Aman Group destinations in the region, including Janu Diriyah and Aman AlUla in Saudi Arabia, Aman Dubai and Janu Dubai, and the recently announced Amangati, a 183-meter luxury motor yacht developed in partnership with Cruise Saudi.
