The Pinnacle is Jamaica’s first branded residences development, bringing together luxury residences, hospitality, wellness and leisure facilities in a major waterfront development in Montego Bay.
BRESI founder Jason Payne speaks with Issia Thelwell, Director of Sales & Marketing at The Pinnacle by LCH Developments, about the vision for the project, how it is being positioned in the market and the response from both local and international buyers.
Issia has more than a decade of experience in luxury hospitality, including senior roles with some of Jamaica’s leading hotel brands.
She discusses The Pinnacle’s residential and investment opportunities, the buyer markets showing the strongest interest, the development’s progress and what its arrival could mean for Montego Bay’s luxury property market and Jamaica’s wider luxury real estate and hospitality sector.

JP: Thanks for your time today, Issia. Could you please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background and your role with The Pinnacle and LCH Developments?
Thank you for having me. My name is Issia Thelwell, and I am the Director of Sales & Marketing for The Pinnacle by LCH Developments.
I’ve spent my career in luxury hospitality, with over a decade of experience in sales, marketing, marketing, and luxury partnership and customer engagement. Before joining The Pinnacle, I held senior leadership roles with some of Jamaica’s most prestigious hotels brands including Round Hill and Half Moon, so I understand what discerning global buyers expect when they’re investing in lifestyle-driven real estate.
Today, my role is to lead the global sales and marketing strategy for The Pinnacle, building awareness internationally, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring we position the development as one of the Caribbean’s most compelling luxury residential opportunities.
JP: Can you give us a high-level overview of The Pinnacle, its overall vision, key features, amenities, and what makes it stand out in Jamaica?
The Pinnacle represents a completely new chapter for luxury real estate in Jamaica.
Our vision has always been to create an internationally competitive waterfront community that could stand alongside the world’s premier branded residential developments while remaining authentically Jamaican.
The master plan includes four residential towers, luxury villas, a marina, extensive wellness and recreational facilities, restaurants, retail experiences, beautifully landscaped public spaces, and direct access to one of Montego Bay’s most extraordinary natural environments.
What truly distinguishes The Pinnacle is that it isn’t simply a luxury apartment development – it is an entire lifestyle destination. Residents enjoy resort-style amenities alongside privacy, security, professional management, and exceptional architecture, all within one of the Caribbean’s most loved locations.

JP: As Jamaica’s first branded residences development, how has this influenced the project’s positioning and buyer appeal? What specific advantages does being branded bring to a project of this scale?
Being Jamaica’s first branded residences development has been transformational.
International buyers are increasingly familiar with branded residences because they’ve experienced the consistency, service standards, and operational excellence associated with global hospitality brands.
Having internationally recognised operators provides buyers with confidence that the property will be professionally managed, maintained to exceptional standards, and supported by a globally respected hospitality network.
It also enhances long-term value. Buyers aren’t simply purchasing an apartment – they’re investing in a professionally operated lifestyle with concierge services, hospitality expertise, and a recognised international brand behind the experience.
For many international investors, that significantly reduces uncertainty while increasing confidence in their investment.
JP: The project offers whole ownership residential and investment apartments. Could you tell us more about the investment opportunities and how it will work for owners?
One of the greatest strengths of The Pinnacle is that buyers can choose the ownership model that best suits their lifestyle and investment objectives.
Some owners are purchasing purely as private residences, while others are investing with rental income in mind.
Selected residences participate in professionally managed rental programmes, allowing owners to generate income while benefiting from hotel-level management, reservations, guest services, maintenance, and operational support.
This creates an attractive combination of lifestyle and investment, where owners can enjoy their residence while also having the opportunity to earn returns during periods when they are not in residence.
JP: How are you currently positioning and selling the residences to various buyer groups such as local buyers and international investors? Also, what have been the most popular nationalities among those who have already purchased?
Our approach is highly targeted because different buyers have different motivations.
For Jamaican buyers, we’re positioning The Pinnacle as an opportunity to own a truly world-class residence without leaving home – a development that raises the benchmark for luxury living in Jamaica.
For our international audience, we’re showcasing Jamaica’s growing global appeal, our stable investment environment, year-round tourism market, and the exceptional lifestyle Montego Bay offers.
We’re seeing particularly strong interest from Jamaica’s diaspora, as well as buyers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and several Caribbean territories.
Many purchasers already have a personal connection to Jamaica, while others are discovering the island as a sophisticated destination for both lifestyle and long-term investment.
JP: Which apartment types or lifestyle elements are attracting the most interest right now?

There is particularly strong demand for our two-bedroom residences because they offer an excellent balance of space, lifestyle, and investment potential.
Lifestyle-wise, buyers consistently respond to the waterfront setting, the marina, the wellness amenities, and the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living.
However, one feature that continually surprises buyers is the amount of space. In today’s market, generous floor plans have become a true luxury, and that’s something we’ve intentionally prioritised throughout the development.
JP: For foreign buyers interested in The Pinnacle, can you explain how foreigners can own property in Jamaica? What are the key rules, processes, timelines, or any supportive programs they should know about?
One of Jamaica’s greatest advantages is how accessible property ownership is for international buyers.
Foreign nationals can purchase freehold property with the same ownership rights as Jamaican citizens, and there are no restrictions requiring residency or citizenship to own real estate.
The purchasing process is straightforward. Buyers can appoint a local attorney, complete due diligence, execute the Sale Agreement, and make staged payments throughout construction.
Jamaica also has a well-established legal framework based on English common law, providing buyers with transparency and security throughout the transaction.
Overall, it’s a very investor-friendly environment, which has contributed to growing international interest in Jamaican real estate.
JP: Can you share an update on the current construction progress across the towers and phases, along with expected completion timelines and handover dates?
Construction is progressing exceptionally well.
Our first residential tower, Swallowtail, has already topped out structurally, and work continues on glazing, interior finishes, and building systems.
Our anticipated delivery schedule begins with the Commercial Centre this Summer, followed by Swallowtail in 2027, then Canary in 2028, with the remaining branded towers completing in subsequent phases.
It’s incredibly exciting because buyers are now seeing the vision become reality, and each construction milestone continues to reinforce confidence in the development.
JP: How do you envision The Pinnacle impacting Montego Bay’s luxury real estate market and the wider tourism and hospitality sector in Jamaica?
I genuinely believe The Pinnacle will redefine expectations for luxury residential development in Jamaica.
Beyond introducing branded residences to the market, we’re helping position Montego Bay as a destination capable of attracting a new category of global buyer—individuals who expect the same level of quality, design, and service they experience in destinations like Miami, Dubai, or the Mediterranean.
That has wider implications for tourism, investment, employment, and Jamaica’s international reputation.
Developments like The Pinnacle demonstrate that Jamaica can compete confidently on the global luxury stage while remaining true to its culture, natural beauty, and hospitality.
JP: And to wrap things up, if you could pick one signature experience or amenity at The Pinnacle that best captures the lifestyle residents will enjoy, what would it be and why?

If I had to choose just one, it would be waking up to the waterfront every day and stepping directly into a fully integrated resort lifestyle.
Imagine starting your morning overlooking the marina, enjoying breakfast by the water, spending the afternoon at the wellness facilities or on the beach, dining at one of the restaurants in the evening, and returning home without ever leaving your community.
That effortless transition between luxury residence, resort, nature, and hospitality is what defines The Pinnacle.
Ultimately, we’re not just selling homes—we’re creating a lifestyle that simply hasn’t existed in Jamaica before.
