Meliá Announces Meliá Collection Valle de Uco Hotel & Branded Residences

set to open in 2028, the hotel will feature 110 rooms—including 10 branded residences

Meliá Hotels International has announced that its new Meliá Collection Valle de Uco hotel in Argentina will also include branded residences. The luxury resort is set to open in 2028 in one of the country’s most striking wine regions.

The Valle de Uco property will feature 110 rooms and a limited collection of just 10 branded residences available for private ownership, located approximately 100 kilometres from Mendoza city surrounded by vineyards and framed by the Andes mountains.

The property will deliver an immersive experience centred on wine tourism, wellness, and nature, with a wellness area, family-friendly spaces, and a gastronomic offering built around the region’s renowned vineyards and produce.

It is designed as a destination in its own right and marks the debut of the Meliá Collection brand in this area, bringing Meliá’s most exclusive concept to a location celebrated for its prestigious wineries and lifestyle appeal.

Meliá Collection Valle de Uco is one of two hotel agreements signed with long-term partner Grupo Almarena, the other being Meliá Mendoza, located in the very heart of the city, just steps from Plaza Independencia.

Meliá signs two new hotels in Mendoza, Argentina, opening 2028: a 140-room urban property and a 110-room wine-country resort in Valle de Uco, both owned by Grupo Almarena.

Meliá Mendoza

The 140-room Meliá Mendoza will include a restaurant, bar, and meeting facilities, catering to both business and leisure travellers. It will introduce the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand to Mendoza’s urban setting. Meliá Mendoza is also scheduled to open in 2028.

Argentina: A Strategic Growth Market

These signings represent a significant acceleration of Meliá’s presence in Argentina, a key growth market for the company. Meliá currently operates six hotels in the country, four of which opened in the past two years, and has five additional signed projects in the pipeline.

Strengthening Partnership with Grupo Almarena

Both Mendoza hotels are owned by Grupo Almarena, deepening a strategic alliance that now encompasses five properties, including two in Buenos Aires and an upcoming project in Costa del Este.

Since its founding in 2014, Grupo Almarena has grown into one of Argentina’s most dynamic players in hospitality, gastronomy, and real estate. Starting with Almarena Apart & Hotel Boutique in Costa del Este, the company has built a diversified portfolio serving both domestic and international travellers.

The two companies share a clear goal: develop distinctive properties in destinations worth travelling to. The Mendoza signings put Meliá in a strong position to meet growing demand for premium experiences across both urban and wine-country settings.
