New Waldorf Astoria Resort & Residences Coming to Malaga Spain – Hilton and Higuerón Developments have announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Marbella, set to open in 2029 in Spain’s Malaga Province, marking the iconic luxury brand’s debut in the region.

Dual Offering of Hotel and Branded Residences – The resort will feature 120 guest rooms and suites alongside 120 branded residences, designed by three Pritzker Prize-winning architects which will blend contemporary luxury within Marbella’s Mediterranean coastal setting.

Comprehensive Luxury Amenities – Guests will enjoy distinctive dining venues including the brand’s signature Peacock Alley, a 750 square meter spa with four treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness facilities, and access to a championship golf course.

Historic Golf Course Transformation – The resort will provide access to a championship golf course originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1994, which will be redesigned by his son Robert Trent Jones Jr. with a contemporary and sustainable approach while preserving its essence.

Strategic Expansion of Luxury Portfolio – This signing represents a significant step in Hilton’s global luxury expansion strategy, joining a portfolio of more than 65 Waldorf Astoria hotels worldwide, including recent openings in New York, Helsinki, and Shanghai.

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Higuerón Developments today announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Marbella, bringing the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand to Spain’s Malaga Province. Opening in 2029, the new resort will offer a contemporary expression of Marbella’s Andalusian setting, reflecting Waldorf Astoria’s signature design ethos and service throughout. Guests will also experience the brand’s Personal Concierge.

The hotel will feature a unique design created by three Pritzker Prize-winning architects, who are currently working on its conceptual design competition.

Guests will enjoy a collection of distinctive dining experiences at Waldorf Astoria Marbella, including the brand’s iconic Peacock Alley, a stylish Lobby Bar, a signature restaurant, and a pool bar and grill. Wellness will sit at the centre of the resort, anchored by a 750 square metre spa with four treatment rooms, a gym, and both indoor and outdoor pools with expansive decks.

The resort’s dining and wellness spaces reflect a modern, design-led approach that will connect guests to the destination.

For events and celebrations, the resort will feature a grand ballroom, a multi-function space, two connected meeting rooms, and an executive boardroom.

Exclusive Waldorf Astoria Branded Residences

The resort’s private residences offer elevated privacy and access to bespoke services and amenities, such as an owner’s lounge, fitness space, and private dining room.

Both guests of the hotel and those in the residences will also have access to a championship golf course that was originally designed by legendary golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr., in 1994 and is set for a transformation that will preserve its essence.

The redesign will be led by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who will reinterpret the course with a contemporary and sustainable vision.

Waldorf Astoria Marbella joins Hilton’s global Waldorf Astoria portfolio of more than 65 hotels trading and pipeline, including the recently reopened Waldorf Astoria New York, Waldorf Astoria Helsinki and Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan, and the upcoming openings of Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé and Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch.

The signing ceremony for Waldorf Astoria Marbella took place in New York on 5 November, attended by Christopher J. Nassetta, president & CEO of Hilton, and Javier Rodríguez, CEO of Higuerón Developments.
